The Project Designer & Estimator is a growth role for a tech-forward early-career designer who wants to build a career toward licensure as a Landscape Architect. The position exists to build Atlantic's internal design and estimating capacity while providing structured mentorship, real project exposure across landscape and building scopes, and a direct path toward professional licensure over time.
The role produces drawings, 3D models, renderings, and material takeoffs under the direction of the President and Division Leader. The dual design-and-estimating scope is intentional: the same person who designs the project produces the material takeoffs, closing the loop between what's drawn and what's priced. Over a 2-4 year horizon, the hire grows toward independent design ownership.
Required Qualifications:
Degree (or final year) in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Architectural Technology, or closely related field LAAB- or NAAB-accredited preferred if pursuing licensure
Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp (coursework + portfolio acceptable in lieu of professional experience)
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
Strong numeracy comfort with quantity takeoffs, unit conversions, and spreadsheet-based estimating
Strong visual and graphic sensibility portfolio is the primary screen
Genuine interest in design-build (vs. studio-only) practice
Interest in pursuing licensure as a Landscape Architect over time
Valid driver's license
